Offered for sale is my super rare Bmw 2002 touring.
Believed to be only 10 registered cars on the road in the uk, this has to be one of the rarest 1970s bmw model on the market.
This is a 1972 RHD factory 2002 factory car.
I purchased this a while back after it had been sitting of the road for a number of years in a warm storage area. It looked like someone had spent alot of money on the car but never really finished it.
I would say it was painted then. The paint is good but not perfect. There is some paint cracking to the leading edge of the bonnet (shown in pics) and a few small bubbles under the paint . This is not a freshly painted car so what you see has been there for a while .
The car is incredibly solid and straight. It requires no welding and has be sealed underneath and lano guarded . It is extremely tidy underneath .
It has black stripes on the side with Alpina stickers. These are removable if wanted. It has period Hella yellow spot lamps and a lower front lip spoiler. The car has new lowered springs and sits on 14inch alpina style wheels with new Yokohama Advanced A008 tyres. The car sits just right in my opinion and rides very well.
The 2. 0 litre engine has been fitted with twin 40 Webbers. The car sounds fantastic and is a very nippy little car.
The brakes are the expensive thing on these cars. I have fitted new servos, master cylinder, new copper brake lines in the engine. The calipers were done previously . This cost alone was around £2000. It has an alloy rad and an electric fan. It was fully serviced with new plugs, leads oil etc. Loads of rubber hoses were also changed. As I said previously the car rides and drives great, it pulls well and is a very usable classic that could be driven every day.
The interior is very original and has new over mats fitted. Headlining is great , its a nice place to be.
This is a fantastic little classic and if it was a 2002ti it would be £30K.
Others car in standard form range form £15k to £25K . This has had alot spent on in time and parts. I think this is a great car to use as it is or take it to show level with a sensible reserve .
I collect old Porsches so would possibly consider a part exchange, but at trade prices as I feel im putting a sensible price on this car.
Viewings are welcome in Sg13.
The car is registered in my name, I think i’m the fifth owner.
Thanks for looking.
