Car was restored in 2015 using a brand new old stock bodyshell, which had been purchased from the MG factory in Abingdon and dry stored since 1979. Bodyshell has been painted in Range Rover “Baltic Blue Metallic”. Bumper armatures, hood frame, seat frames, heater box, radiator cowl, suspension parts, all powder coated in gloss black. Many small steel parts have been zinc plated to reduce risk of corrosion. Waxoyl applied to underside of bodyshell and chassis cavities. Modifications include fitting a Frontline Developments 5-speed gearbox conversion, Revotec electric engine cooling fan, Magnetronic ignition system, lowered coil springs to front suspension, lowered leaf springs and Spax adjustable dampers to rear suspension, poly bushes all round, oil cooler, remote brake servo, SU electric fuel pump conversion, Powerlite hi-torque starter motor, stainless steel exhaust system, Silentcoat sound deadening, mohair hood. Unleaded conversion to engine. New parts fitted include steering rack, king pins and bushes, front suspension wishbones, front brake discs and pads, front wheel bearings, radiator, water pump, alternator, battery, ignition coil, wiper motor, brake master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinders, clutch plate and cover plate, propshaft, rear brake shoes, rear brake back plates, brake drums, cylinders, brake levers, springs, rear wheel bearings, seat belts, seat covers, carpets, chrome door handles and window winders, stainless steel radiator grille, bonnet catch, pedal box grille, heater flaps. The dashboard has been redesigned to hold 3 Smiths gauges and clock, with MGB switches used for the headlights and hazard lights. As part of this work, a classic Mini indicator/ wiper stalk has been fitted to the steering column along with a modified cowl. A full photographic record of rebuild available. This car has had so much love and attention during its rebuild, absolutely no expense spared or corners cut, the car has been built how MG should have built it. The colour looks superb against black bumpers, soundproofing removes any rattles, 5 speed gearbox makes fast cruising so enjoyable. This is a car to be driven and shown.
