Amphicar 770 – 50 Years Family Ownership | Excellent Bodywork Condition
History & Condition:
For sale is an exceptional Amphicar 770 from long-term family ownership (since 1976, with only one previous owner). For decades, this vehicle has been kept in a dry private collection. Having been launched into the water only twice in the last 50 years, it boasts an outstanding bodywork substance – a crucial advantage over most Amphicars that have seen frequent water use and suffer from corrosion.
Technical Reconditioning:
Approximately 10 years ago, the vehicle was brought out of its “sleeping beauty” state and underwent an extensive technical and cosmetic reconditioning. Great emphasis was placed on expertise and originality. The following components were replaced or overhauled:
Transmission: A transmission newly reconditioned by an Amphicar specialist was installed.
Braking System: Complete revision.
Seals: All relevant vehicle-specific seals were replaced.
Since this overhaul, the car has only been driven occasionally in fair weather conditions.
Current Technical Status:
The engine is fully functional and runs smoothly. Important Note: Due to the time spent in storage, the clutch does not disengage properly at the moment, which prevents gears from being engaged while the engine is running (Diagnosis: release bearing / clutch linkage).
