Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this super Ferrari 348 tb, which has probably the most detailed history file of any Ferrari that we’ve seen at Hexagon. A perfect example of early-90s Maranello design, the 348 TB offers a visceral driving experience paired with timeless Pininfarina styling.
The 348 in the model’s name referred to the 3. 4 litre engine capacity and 8 cylinders, whilst the “t” in the designation referred to the transverse gearbox mounted at the rear of the engine. The Ferrari 348 tb had a UK list price of £69, 498. 81 and only 134 examples were imported to the UK, which makes this car highly collectable. The body was designed by Pininfarina and bore a strong family resemblance to the Testarossa model, but on a smaller scale.
Heir to the 328 GTB, the 348 TB was a completely new car, which offered a new interpretation of the two-seater mid-engined V8 berlinetta. The new design combined styling cues from the Testarossa – along the flanks – with ones from classic models of the past (such as the front-end treatment, reminiscent of the 375 MM).
Mated to a new transverse 5-speed gearbox, the longitudinally mounted 3404 cc V8 engine produced 300 bhp (221Kw @ 7, 200 rpm), which the new high torsional strength, semi-monocoque chassis transferred to the road extremely efficiently. 0-62 mph acceleration was achieved in just 5. 6 secs and top speed was quoted at over 172 mph.
Our Ferrari 348 tb was supplied new by Maranello Sales, Egham in January 1992 to Lord Beaverbrook of Express Newspapers. It is complete with the original leather handbook wallet, dating letter, dealer invoice, stamped service booklet, Ferrari invoice file, historic MOT certificates, spare keys and even the road fund licence discs. 300 labour hours were spent by Antwis, removing the engine and gearbox, after which Sodablaster cleaned the entire frame and painted & powder coated all the components. The sticky switches were also remedied and the car Waxoyled with clear protectant.
With a recent service and new tyre set completed, this 348 tb is all ready to be enjoyed. A 12-month comprehensive warranty will also be included. Available to view now at our London showrooms.
